Pakistani food in Riyadh

Riyadh is a food hub, you name the cuisine and it offers you an avenue. But when it comes to Pakistani food, you don't find many options. 'Marhaba' is one of the limited choices we've got here. Fried fish fingers Ambiance is not that great but food is good. Well I'm not going to compare it with  exquisite tastes back in homeland but if you want to get an idea of Pakistani cuisine then give it a try, hopefully you'd like it :) I would rather say that it's food is delicious and reasonably priced as compared to most of other restaurants which provide same type of food with less taste and high prices. These days they have an offer on Cobone as well! vegetable samosa They offer catering services too. We hired their services for a dinner and it was a hit. Everyone loved the food! We've tried their a la carte and buffet both and I'll recommend you to give it a try if you're a fan of Indian and Pakistani cuisine. Menu offers many opt...

Best Chocolate Cake Ever !

Believe me, I'm not bragging! Well , no one can brag at this late an hour! It's past midnight, I'm sipping tea, watching Julie and Julia while waiting for my chocolate cake to be ready for final coat of icing. Why is it so urgent? It is urgent because it's not just a cake , it's cake for a client which she'll pick tomorrow morning at 11 am. I know I started quite late but it happens when you have three kids and no eggs ...lol! After kids were settled in beds we went for a quick grocery spree which turned into a detailed one. To wrap it short, I'm done couple of minutes ago with leveling and layering this literally finger licking delicious chocolate cake with rich, creamy, satiny, velvety ganache. Once last layer was set, I dipped some left over into ganache and deavour it! It was finger licking good in real sense of the word! So I thought why not share this recipe with you!  And its not just any recipe; its a very special recipe which I use for my professio...

I'm cutting down spices, literally cutting down, to devour the real savor of my food and thoroughly loving the process! Today I prepared a quick meal of Baked chicken with honey garlic sauce. Without any prior marination, rubbed with olive oil ,coarse salt and dash of rosemary, this tender chicken with a generous drizzle of lemon n honey sauce was, simply succulent!                 Baked chicken with honey and lemon sauce Ingredients: 1. 500 g of  boneless chicken fillets 2. Aalu Gosht / Lamb n Potato stew

Aalu Gosht or lamb n potao stew is an all time favorite, Pakistani dish. Its  part of weekly food regime of majority of Pakistani families. Whether you eat it with fresh chapati or zeera pulao , you'll be satisfying your taste buds with a flavorful meal which is light on stomach but rich in taste. A wholesome deliciousness packed in a pot ! As a teen I used to hate this traditional speciality of Pakistan cuisine 😛 (Well it was not only aalu gosht, I hated every sort of shorba. It was later in life when I came to know that our shorbas or meat n vegetable stews are flavorsome nutrient packages! Few years ago when my husband had cholestrol problem, his doctor advised me to make stews for him with thin consistency. And it worked for him miraculously, without following a strict diet, his level reached bad to good ! Recipe which I'll share with you today, is my very own creation and of which I'm really proud of! Nope, I'm not boasting , its just a good feeling whi...

Here is the story!

So it just happened that I was taking my morning tea while thinking what to watch for a quick fresh up before getting indulge in chores. I had no idea that this movie will inspire me to write after a lapse of almost four years.  Well I'm not a writer writer in real sense of the word but I've this conviction or you may say a strong desire to write, which kept on nudging me wherever I go or whatever I do. And ironically I do everything from planning to dreaming about my accomplishments, except putting them in words.  Many a times I came across a book, a novelette or title of some play and my inside screams,"Oiiii! that was my idea!" Its a task to recapture the plots and characters I've been weaving for my upcoming book or books, since half a decade! And then it happened that I happened to watch this movie 'Julie and Julia' yesterday.  Frustrated with a soul-killing job, New Yorker Julie Powell (Amy Adams) embarks on a daring project: she vows to prepare ...
